Adrian Copeland was more than a little annoyed when his sleep was disturbed by a crying baby. When he went to knock on his neighbor's door, he wasn't expecting to have his life changed forever. Vanessa Price was at her wit's end with her sister's baby. She dropped the newborn off for Vanessa to watch and never came back to get her. Baby Grace had been crying for hours when her hot neighbor, Adrian, knocked on her door. Vanessa didn't know what to do, so she took him up on his offer for a shower while he watched the baby. When Vanessa emerged, the baby was quietly sleeping and Vanessa knew that her life was going to change. Adrian and Vanessa became fast friends and spend a lot of time together with baby Grace. It doesn't take long for both of them to develop feelings, but do they really know all there is to know about each other's past?
Life's Too Short is a fun read with some hard-hitting topics. Hoarding, drug abuse, and ALS to name a few. But I still found myself laughing and thoroughly enjoying myself. Vanessa and Adrian are total opposites. Adrian is a career-driven lawyer and Vanessa is out to enjoy as much of life as she possible can. I loved the way they interacted, and I loved the way Adrian just took to the baby. He was a natural. You expect a happy-ever-after, but there was a point in the book where I wasn't sure that was going to happen. - CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS.
Bottom Line - I look forward to Abby Jimenez's books. They are smartly written with humor and real-life issues weaved throughout. Life's Too Short fits the bill. You can't help but get caught up in Adrian and Vanessa's story.
