The loss of her beloved mother shattered Brynn Wilder's world. She escaped to the small lake town of Wharton to grieve and recover her sense of herself. The small community and the boardinghouse where she decides to stay welcome her with open arms. But even the handsome, enigmatic Dominic can't distract Brynn from the strange things happening with room #5. Brynn is hearing things and seeing things. The residents of Wharton are not unfamiliar to fans of Wendy Webb. The quaint little community has ties to the supernatural, but of course, Brynn Wilder doesn't know that. It was nice to catch up with those other characters, though. And Brynn Wilder is the main character that readers get attached to easily. Not to mention Dominic. His relationship with Brynn becomes very intense, very quick, but I liked them together. In the end, the author revealed a shocking twist that still leaves me thinking about it. Bottom Line - my book club loves Wendy Webb novels and The Haunting of Brynn Wilder was the perfect pick for our October read. Atmospheric, haunting, and captivating make for a great read!
