The Art of Forgetting

Publication Date: June 9, 2011
304 Pages

Marissa & Jules have been best friends since they were young girls. They have been through so much together and after everything they are still best friends. It is a typical day in New York City when the girls arrange to meet for drinks after work when Jules is hit by a cab right in front of Marissa's very eyes.

The traumatic brain injury that Jules sustained changes their friendship. Jules is not the person she once was, her memory is spotty and her personality has changed. Will Marissa be able to handle the "new" Jules? Will their friendship be able to sustain the damage that Jules inflicts on it as a result of the accident?

The Art of Forgetting refers to more than just the traumatic brain injury that Jules sustains. It is about forgetting past transgressions, forgetting past loves, and moving on with your life. There truly is an art to truly forgetting & forgiving. I really enjoyed this book. I struggled with Marissa to like the "new" Jules. I enjoyed watching her grow strong in her resolve to "forget" Nathan. The Art of Forgetting is a wonderful book about the power of friendship. An enjoyable read for friends to share.
