Sam and Elli have been close their entire lives. As twins, they were famous for their role on a popular television show. That popularity carried them a long time until Elli said no more. She wanted to go to college; she wanted a normal life. While Elli was living her normal life, Sam was desperately trying to remain relevant in an industry where relevance was king. The hard-partying Sam burned so many bridges, including with Elli. They haven't spoken in nearly a year. Sam's addiction has driven a wedge in their relationship. Out of the blue, their parents call Sam and ask her to come help take care of her niece. Sam knew that she and Elli had drifted, but to not tell her she adopted a little girl? It hurt Sam. The longer Elli is gone, the more Sam is convinced that she is involved in something dangerous. Maybe this time their roles will be reversed and Sam will come to Elli's rescue.

I'll Be You is the story of two sisters who struggle with very different demons. For Sam, it is drugs and alcohol. For Elli, it is the call of motherhood and her inability to have a baby. The book is told from the alternating perspectives of Sam and Elli. There are some flashbacks, too, to help the reader fully understand all that Sam and Elli have gone through. Both sisters are a hot mess, but I love how despite everything, they are there for each other.  CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS

Bottom Line - I'll Be You is an engrossing tale of two sisters seeking happiness in different, but dangerous ways.
