Hannah Rokeby has a mission. She must stop Michael Dandridge from getting out of prison. Hannah's mother has made it clear to Hannah that this man is evil and guilty and must not get off of death row. When Hannah learns that the famed Innocence Project is working on his case, she infiltrates them to prevent the catastrophe from happening. But what Hannah learns is that there are two sides to every story and maybe her mother had not been truthful. Hannah learns monsters come in every shape and form. As the trial looms, Hannah is forced to face everything she thought she knew about Michael Dandridge and she has to decide where her loyalties lie. With the mother who raised her? Or the man on death row?

The Murder Rule was so good! Hannah Rokeby was a brilliant, if not misguided, character. She learned, as we all do eventually, that things aren't always black and white. Hannah believes she is on the side of justice, but then she realizes that even justice isn't black and white. Even though many of Hannah's actions were misguided, the whole experience helped her to grow as a person. CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS  In the end, I liked the person Hannah became.

Bottom Line - Page-turners like The Murder Rule are perfect for lazy summer days. Interesting and diverse characters in a compelling story, how can you put it down?
