Molly Gray is incredibly proud of her career as a maid at the Regency Grand Hotel, one of the most prestigious hotels in the city. It is Molly's entire life, ever since her Gran died a few months ago. Molly knows others consider her peculiar. She has a hard time reading social cues, but that is why being a maid is perfect for her. The expectations and rules for engaging guests are very clear. But that hasn't stopped Molly from striking up a friendship with Giselle Black. Her husband, the very wealthy Mr. Black, is mean to Molly and his wife. Yet Molly is still sad when she finds him dead in their suite one day. It confused Molly when the police question her. She had nothing to do with his death, but they think she did. Molly has to take some risks in order to prove her innocence. Will she be able to prove that she had nothing to do with Mr. Black's death?

I found The Maid to be an utterly delightful mystery novel. I could compare Molly Gray to Sheldon Cooper, but without the annoying arrogance. She is a delightful character who keeps a positive attitude no matter how bad things have gotten for her. And of course, she always remembers her manners. Her Gran would be disappointed in her otherwise. It really seemed that Molly was alone in the world, but then Mr. Preston proved me wrong. After a "Clue-like" experience, the mystery of who killed Mr. Black is solved.  CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS

Bottom Line - I thoroughly enjoyed The Maid. I would welcome a movie based on this book and I would love to see the author bring Molly Gray back to readers.
