One day they call her and her partner to a domestic disturbance to find that a well decorated, veteran officer has beat up his girlfriend. Phil befriends the battered woman and incurs the wrath of that man and all of the men in the "good ole boy" network that is rampant through the department. Did Phil just ruin her career and her life by trying to do the right thing?
When You Are Mine is Michael Robotham's latest masterpiece. Phil McCarthy is the kind of hero that all young girls should look up to. She is smart, passionate, and always looking out for those in need. She wanted to help Tempe Brown. It was that simple. And I just knew there was something up with Tempe Brown. She made my spidey senses tingle. I liked the way that Phil's relationship evolved throughout the whole book. It gave Phil the depth that is often missing from thrillers these days. Bottom Line - When You Are Mine was such a wonderful novel with so many layers. If you need a good mystery to kick off your 2022 reading, start with When You Are Mine.
