Twenty-six-year-old Dahlia Lighthouse had an unconventional childhood. She and her three siblings grew up in a fairly isolated mansion in the middle of the woods. Their mother, who was obsessed with serial killers and their victims, homeschooled Dahlia and her siblings, further isolating them from the outside world. Dahlia and her twin, Andy, were just sixteen years old when Andy ran away from home. Dahlia spent the next ten years looking for Andy in every corner of the country. Only returning to the family home when their father died unexpectantly. When they discover a body in The Family Plot, Dahlia and the rest of the family have to figure out who it is and if they are a victim of the Lighthouse Killer that has plagued the island for decades.

The Family Plot features a family, The Lighthouse family, who are odd. Given the way they grew up, I am not surprised that the children all turned out a bit odd. This is where I got bored. It was obvious who the body was in the plot. It was also obvious who was the Lighthouse Killer. There was one part of the "reveal" that was an unexpected twist, but mostly the story was predictable. Bottom Line - The Family Plot has an interesting premise that had a lot of promise. Unfortunately, it fell flat for me.
