Just like millions of people, Friends was my show. It was truly "Must See TV." I have followed the careers of each of the six friends. Anybody who was paying attention was well aware of Matthew Perry's battle with drugs. In his new memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing Matthew Perry gets real about his addiction and the damage it has done to his body, his career, and his life. The man almost died and was in the hospital for months. The amount of money he spent trying to get clean is jaw-dropping. The honesty with which Matthew Perry tells his story should be commended.

Perry talks about his early days in Canada his move to California, and his early days in show biz. There was some nostalgia thrown in as he talks about courting Julia Roberts over fax, and other things that embodies the nineties. Perry never comes out to say that he is sober and clean from drugs right now, but I thought I detected some slurring in his audiobook. Wheter that was from decades of drug abuse or current

Bottom Line - As far as celebrity memoirs go, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing is a good one. Honest, raw, and full of great celebrity insiders.
