In case you haven't noticed, I am a bit behind on my blogging. Work and life have gotten in the way, more often than not. I am still reading, but to keep current on my reading, you might want to check out my Goodreads.

We read The Haunting of Hill House for our October book club meeting and there were mixed feelings about the book. The Haunting of Hill House was first published in 1959 and certainly has the feel of a book over fifty years old. What I mean by that is that the author builds the suspense, but leaves a lot to the reader's imagination. There have been variations of this book over the year, not to mention movies and television shows. All are based on the characters of Eleanor, Theodora, Luke, and the doctor. But it is the house that is the primary character. Full of twists and turns and rooms that seem to suck the life right out of the inhabitants.

The Haunting of Hill House is a quick read, but it is the final pages that will shock you the most.
