Day zero - One late October night, Jen Brotherhood is waiting up for her teenage son, Todd. She sees him stab a man to death and the next few hours of Jen's life are a nightmare. And when she wakes up in the morning, it is the day before. Once she realizes that she is living the day over, she is desperate to prevent her son from becoming a murderer. And when she wakes in the morning, it is three days before the murder. Every morning Jen wakes up is another day in the past and another day for her to learn more about what would cause her son to want to stab a man. She realizes that there is a lot she didn't know about her husband. Just how far back will Jen have to go to change her son's actions that night?
Wrong Place Wrong Time is a fast-paced, time-bending thriller. Jen doesn't relive the same day over and over. She relives several days over, which allows her to investigate and dig into what could have prompted her son to murder. What I really liked about Jen was that this unique way of living gave her a chance to reflect on her own parenting and relationships, including her relationship with her father. There were a lot of surprises along the way for Jen and the reader. Culminating in a satisfying conclusion. - CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS
Bottom Line - It is always risky to read a time-bending novel. They can go bad very quickly, but Gillian McAllister has delivered a gripping, edge-of-your-seat thriller. Don't miss this one!
