Shay Miller is lonely. She doesn't have any real friends and she doesn't have a boyfriend. Even her job as a temp keeps her from forming real relationships at work.  So when she witnesses a tragedy on the subway, she has nobody to talk to about her emotions.  Watching that young woman jump in front of a train was a life-changing moment for Shay.  She wanted to know more about Amanda Evinger and that led her to Amanda's friends, Cassandra and Jane. Cassandra and Jane are everything she ever hoped to find in friends. They are kind and supportive. They help Shay come out of her shell and become a whole new person.  But then Shay starts to notice some things about her new friends that could seriously get her in trouble.  Cassandra and Jane wouldn't purposefully get her in trouble with the law, would they?

You Are Not Alone is a fast-paced psychological thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat.  Shay Miller was a meek kind of character. You could feel her loneliness permeate off of the pages. I felt some serious empathy for her. The way she longed for friends was almost heartbreaking.  The author tells the story from different perspectives.  Mostly it is Shay and Cassandra and Jane telling the story, but Valerie, Daphne, and  Stacey. Together, their viewpoints paint a picture of hurt, manipulative, desperate women. Shay starts to piece everything together and she starts to realize that maybe Cassandra and Jane are not as nice as they have led her to believe. Things spiral out of control to a pretty explosive conclusion. CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS

Bottom Line - Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen are quickly becoming the dynamic duo of psychological thrillers and once again they have written the "must-read book" of the year.  I couldn't wait to get my hands on You Are Not Alone and I couldn't put it down once I got started.
