(2)Regretting You by Colleen Hoover

Morgan Grant has been with her husband, Chris, ever since they were kids. They got married as teens when Morgan got pregnant.  Admittedly, not an ideal way to start their lives together, but now their daughter, Clara is a junior in high school and their lives are good.  Morgan's sister, Jenny, is an active member of their family. She has her own life changes happening, after reconnecting with her high school sweetheart, and Chris's best friend, Jenny has a new baby boy.  Jonah has come back in their lives, but Morgan is not sure it is a good thing, but overall, Morgan loves to see Jenny happy.  Their lives are pretty close to perfect.  Until the day after Morgan's birthday, when tragedy strikes and the Grant family is forever changed.  Together Morgan and Clara have to navigate their new reality, but can they get through it with their relationship intact?

Regretting You is a book that will probably rip your heart out. It is pretty predictable in many ways, but I still couldn't tear myself away from it.   The book is told from two perspectives. Morgan's and Clara's. And if you have ever had a teen daughter, you know that there is a lot of emotion there. It was hard to watch Clara just be awful to her mother.  They were both hurting, but not allowing each other to rely on each other for healing. I did like how Miller called out Clara on it, too.  She was making bad decisions to get back at her mother.  I wouldn't put the "sap" level at Nicholas Sparks level, but it is close.  In the end, things worked out, because of course, they do.  But I still enjoyed reading to the end. -- CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS

Bottom Line - Regretting You may be a predictable read, but the characters are likable and easy to care about.  Sometimes you just want to read a book that tugs at your heart and Regretting You should be added to your list for consideration.
