(71)Inside Out by Demi Moore

It is that time of year for the fresh crop of celebrity memoirs to hit the shelves.   As a child of the 80s, I was eager to get my hands on Demi Moore's biography. Inside Out.  I was not disappointed.
Demi starts by telling us about her childhood with rocky, irresponsible parents.  Basically, she was raised by wolves.  Which makes sense when she talks about her eating disorder, alcohol addictions, and self-esteem.  She talks about how she almost missed out on being in St. Elmo's Fire because she was in rehab.  They let her out after only 14 days instead of 28 days. She was sober for more than twenty years. Of course, she talks about her marriage to Bruce Willis and the birth of their three daughters. The part that interested me was the telling of her divorce. They worked so hard to give their three daughters normalcy in their divorce.  Bruce bought the house across the street from their home in Hailey, Idaho.  And their daughters had a relatively normal life.  And then she gets to her relationship with Ashton Kutcher and I have to say that he was a bit of a dick to her. I find it interesting that the news around this book was about her having a threesome because Ashton wanted it, not the fact that he cheated on her twice. And one of those times was the day before their anniversary? Nor was it news that Demi Moore miscarried their child, but instead the news was a threesome? Our world is so messed up.

Bottom Line - Celebrity memoirs are always fun to read. A glimpse into the lives of people with more money than I can even fathom fascinates me. I make no apologies for that. Inside Out was a quick and easy read for me, the reader, but given the very personal nature of the things the author revealed, I guarantee it was not a quick and easy book to write.
