In the East Village there is a bookstore.  A bookstore ran by Joe Goldberg.  It was an average kind of day when she walked in. She was perfect. Beautiful.  And witty.  And her life was going to be forever changed on the day she walks into that bookstore.  Joe is smitten and he does what anybody would do in this day and age.  Her googles the name that was on her credit card and forever changes the course of both of their lives.   He finds all of her social media posts and knows just where to find her.  He soon finds his way to Beck's house and into her life.  He takes over her life in ways she doesn't even realize it is happening.  With a psychopathic precision, he removes everybody from her life.  Everybody but him.  Will Beck be able to see Joe for what he really is before it is too late?

You was an absolutely perfect psychological thriller.   I know that there has been a lot of buzz about You due to the television show, but I wanted to read the book first.  And I am so glad that I did.  Joe is an absolutely terrifying character that I could not get enough of.   What I really loved was his astute observations on life and everything book related.  It is obvious that the author has had first-hand experience as a bookseller.   More than once I found myself saying "wow" at some of his thoughts.  Not because they were crazy, but because they were accurate.  Beck was another well-written character.  I didn't really like her, but her character was perfect for this book.  From the very first page, the book sucked you in.  The writing, the characters, were all captivating in their own broken ways.  Nothing really surprised me with the way it went down, it was almost inevitable.  - CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS   I haven't watched the television show yet, but I am eager to do so, now.  I have to see how they spin this story!
