Bared to You

It has been about four months since I read
Fifty Shades of Grey, the "mommy porn" book that has swept the nation. And it occurs to me that I really am not invested enough in Ana or Christian to pick up the next two books in the series. Now,
Bared to You, on the other hand....
Bared to You is the story of Gideon and Eva. Eva's life has been improving recently. She moved into an amazing apartment with her best friend, Cary and she recently started a new job as a personal assistant at an advertising agency. Just as she is starting her new job Eva meets Gideon Cross, the owner of the building where she works. What starts out as just running into each other, literally, quickly turns into a fiery passion that just can not be extinguished. But they both have a dark past that is causing problems in their young relationship. Will they be able to exorcise the ghosts of the past and go onto have a healthy, stable relationship? Or will they destroy each other in their quest for love.
A lot of people out there have been comparing Sylvia Day to E.L. James. And I guess that I can understand why the comparisons are being made, they are both female authors who wrote steamy trilogies. Both of the leading male characters are forceful, successful businessmen. The difference between the two books, in my opinion, is with the heroine. Ana is a young, naive student. And Eva is a strong, determined survivor. I will say that Eva's incessant need to run away when things don't go as she thinks they should go is beyond irritating, but she is called on that behavior and concedes to her flaw. Rare to find in any character, to be honest.
Bottom line,
Bared to You, is another book that could be called "mommy porn" because it seems like every other page is laced with a very steamy sex scene. The story is different than others out on the market right now, in my opinion, because I actually started to care about Gideon and Eva. I want to find out more about Gideon's past and I want to see where their story goes, unfortunately I have to wait until October to find out, but it is a sequel that I am anxious to read. Have you read
Bared to You yet? What did you think?
Compare it to the writing in Fifty Shades of Grey. Is it written better? I could enjoy a book that was written better. Of course this is on the "If you liked 50 Shades" table at the bookstore.
