Everyone in my family has killed someone. Some of us, the high achievers, have killed more than once. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but it is the truth. Some of us are good, others are bad, and some just unfortunate.
I’m Ernest Cunningham. Call me Ern or Ernie. I wish I’d killed whoever decided our family reunion should be at a ski resort, but it’s a little more complicated than that.
Have I killed someone? Yes. I have.
Who was it?
Let’s get started.
EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY HAS KILLED SOMEONE
My brother
My stepsister
My wife
My father
My mother
My sister-in-law
My uncle

It seems like these days every mystery is being compared to Knives Out. Sometimes it is a worthy comparison, other times not so much. I would say it is an accurate comparison for Everyone in my Family Has Killed Someone. Set in a remote ski resort the Cunningham family is snowed in with a dead body. And a possible killer. One by one, the narrator, Ern, takes us through his family. Exposing their secrets. His dry wit adds an element of humor to this murder mystery. And I think that is where the comparisons stem from. I was surprised as the story unraveled, but then I also didn't want it to end. -CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS.
The book was well-written and quite entertaining. And I found myself casting the movie in my head as I was reading it. I hope that some movie exec thinks the way that I do and soon we will see it on the big screen.
