Recently, Abigail's life has been something right out of a fairy tale. She fell in love with the most amazing man, Bruce. He just happens to be a millionaire and gives Abigail everything she could have ever wanted. She thinks that their life as a married couple is going to be perfect if only she can keep Bruce from finding out about the one-night-stand she had during her bachelorette party. They made it through the wedding and now they are on their honeymoon. They didn't go to some tropical location like Abigail wanted. Instead, they went to some island off the coast of Maine. And Abigail notices some bizarre things about the resort, like there are almost no women. But it gets worse when she sees the man she slept with on her bachelorette weekend. Abigail does not know why he is there, but she is worried that Bruce is going to find out. Then she realizes that she has a lot more to be worried about. Will she be able to survive her honeymoon with her marriage intact?
I was so excited to read more of Peter Swanson's novels, but man, this one was a stinker. None of the characters were likable, including Abigail. I worried about her safety, but sleeping with somebody else right before her wedding was really a big strike against her. The whole book was layered with misogynistic tones, as well. I know the author was trying to set Abigail up to be this big hero, but I was just disgusted with her. In the end, we know why, but it was too late for an enjoyable reading experience.

Bottom Line - Peter Swanson is one-for-two for me. I haven't scratched him off my list yet, but I need a break after Every Vow You Break.
