This was my first time to read a book by Simone St. James and I was not disappointed. The Book of Cold Cases was an intense gothic ghost story. Shea Collins had her own demons, and I think they got in her way at times. I liked Shea's relationship with the PI. He was good for her and her demons. There was no big "reveal" that left the reader speechless, instead it was a slow build culminating in some interesting truths. Bottom Line - I am not really one who is into ghost stories, but I really enjoyed The Book of Cold Cases. The author hooked me early on and I couldn't stop reading.
