A young couple, Tallulah and Zach, goes out for a night on the town, leaving their baby with Tallulah's mother, Kim. But when the kids don't return, Kim is left worrying about her daughter, while caring for her grandson. Nearly a year later and there still has been no sign of the young couple. A writer moves into a cottage with her partner and finds a handwritten sign that says "DIG HERE." It stirs up the case that has gone cold and gives Kim back the hope that she has long since lost. Will Kim ever get the answers she needs about her daughter? Will baby Noah ever see his parents again?

The Night She Disappeared is a tale about the wealthy and privileged and how they live together in a quiet countryside village. There is a prestigious private school, an abandoned mansion, and a creepy forest involved trying to make for a "gothic" feel, but it fell short of that gothic feel. Tallulah is a good kid who has been with her boyfriend for years. Yeah, Zach got weird when she found out she was pregnant, but he eventually stepped up to be in their lives. As the book jumps around from the past to the present, the reader realizes that Tallulah and Zach did not have the relationship that Kim thinks they do. It was also clear that Kim did not know everything that was happening in her daughter's life. The ending seemed a little farfetched, but it could have been worse. CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS

Bottom Line - Lisa Jewell is becoming a juggernaut in the psychological thriller world, while The Night She Disappeared was not as gripping as previous books, but it was still a great read.
