After witnessing a brutal murder, fourteen-year-old Jace Wilson is given a new identity and sent to Montana to take part in a teenager survival experience. Ethan Serbin, who runs the program, knows that there is a witness in this summer's group, but he doesn't know which one. What he doesn't realize is that the Blackwell brothers will do anything and go anywhere to find the living witness to the crime that could put them away for life. What Ethan doesn't know is that there is somebody on the "inside" feeding the Blackwell brothers information that gives them an edge. Will Ethan be able to keep the entire group of teens safe, not just the witness? Or will he lose everything he has ever loved?
Those Who Wish Me Dead is the first Michael Koryta that I have read. With the movie based on the book due out this summer, I was willing to give it a shot. The story is a fast-paced one, I will give it that, but it was pretty predictable. CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS
Bottom Line - While I wasn't a huge fan of Those Who Wish Me Dead, I can see where it has the potential of being a summer blockbuster. I am sure we will end up watching it.
