Sabine Hardison, a successful real estate agent, is missing. Her husband, Jeffrey has returned home from a work trip to find her gone. The police are involved, but Sabine's sister is convinced that Jeffrey had something to do with her disappearance. Did Jeffrey do something to Sabine or is she running for her life?
Beth Murphy, not her actual name, is on the run for her life. Beth knows that her husband is capable of killing her if he finds her. She has taken extreme precautions to cover her tracks, but will it be enough to keep her alive?
The fast-paced nature of Dear Wife pleasantly surprised me. Going back and forth between Sabine and Beth, the author paints a picture for the reader. Beth is obviously afraid for her life. In Sabine's chapters, we never actually hear Sabine's voice. Only that of her husband and the detective searching for her. I have to be careful to not give spoilers, but I will say that I figured out the "twist" long before the end. It didn't ruin the experience, though. I still enjoyed the book. CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS
Bottom Line - Dear Wife is a fast-paced thriller about the ugly side of marriage. If you are anything like me you will blow through it in a day!
