Mercury in Retrograde is the perfect book to take with you to the beach, or in my case, the deck. I sat outside this afternoon and read this book in virtually one setting. The perfect way to spend my day off.
Mercury in Retrograde is the story of three women. Penelope Mercury, Dana Gluck, and Lena "Lipstick Carcrash" Lippencrass. The three women couldn't be more different. Penelope is a lowly reporter for a NY Newspaper, Dana is a high powered lawyer on the fast track to make partner, and Lipps is a New York Socialite. They have nothing in common, but with Mercury in Retrograde, anything can happen. And all three women find themselves living in the same SoHo apartment building.
With the help of mutual friends, the women become unlikely friends. They started out by just meeting for Yoga, but soon they come to rely on each other for advice, support, and love. With support like that, it is only a matter of time before the women start to put their lives back together and take the City by storm.
Mercury in Retrograde will not change your life, it will not raise your IQ, but it will provide you with a nice afternoon of entertainment. Be sure to pick it up for your beach bag. The book is on sale June 2, 2009.
